Words are validated against Hunspell dictionaries (MPL/GPL/LGPL tri-licensed), affix-expanded to surface forms.
German compounds. Common compounds (Bahnhof, Krankenhaus) are included by decomposing attested corpus words into known stems. German forms compounds without limit, so rare or newly coined ones may be absent.
German proper nouns. Every German noun is capitalised, so proper nouns cannot be separated from common ones by case. Some place and person names are therefore present.
Italian enclitics. Italian attaches pronouns directly to verbs (adorarvi, dammelo). These are valid words and are included, which is why the Italian list is larger than a tournament dictionary. They are almost all 9 letters or longer, so short searches are unaffected.
Not tournament lists. Official word lists (TWL, CSW, ODS, FISE) are licensed and cannot be used here. English uses ENABLE, which is public domain and the basis of most English word games; the other languages are built from open Hunspell dictionaries.
